The World is Not Cold
January 27, 2012People are. The world is an enchanting place. It’s magical, it’s mysterious, it’s captivating. Nature expresses itself through the most vibrant colors and in the most breathtaking ways.
My teacher taught me how to ‘see’ even though I was born with sight.
Experience taught me how to reclaim the love we are all surrounded with at birth (even though it might not be apparent).
The Truth is that life is what we make it…We mold our destiny like an artist molds clay.
and that’s just the way it is….

Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.

Hybrid
January 25, 2012This is one of many examples of the alien/human hybrid I was talking about in yesterday’s post, probably not first-generation. The face might look normal, but the body was kind of weird and unisex-looking. All of this is inspiring a new painting. I’m thinking of calling it Hybrid. I believe this was one of the Egyptian rulers, which were in power because their forefathers were Space Brothers.
From my understanding, all of the Egyptian royalty trace back to this cross breeding. And since the Greeks had a strong relationship with the Egyptians, (Plato, Pythagorus, etc. studied in Egypt), according to W.T. Samsel, Greek mythology came directly from these stories about our space brothers. He believes, and I do too, that all of the Greek ‘gods’ were actually beings from another Universe.
Hey I know this aint a history blog, even though much of art is historical. My goal isn’t to try and convince you of anything…it’s just that some people want to know the influences and inspiration behind a piece of artwork… Gotta get back to the studio, I’m behind schedule once again. One Love.

black holes, cross breeding & misc. *updated
January 24, 2012What I’m ranting about in this audio
1. Why commissions are a win-win situation
2. What are black holes?
3. What our Space Brothers can learn from us…if anything.
4. Ancient Egyptians mating with aliens?
* Correction: it’s the third, not fourth piece like this

what it is………
January 23, 2012A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament.
Oscar Wilde
I can say this with assurance: energy and magnetism are real. We all have an aura that surrounds us. If you understand how to use this magic, you are working on the level of the Shaman.
There is a lot of artwork that uses the sun/moon imagery. Yet when my piece called “Inspired by True Love” was showing in East Atlanta, it was placed in the window so that all passer byers could see it, and I was told there was a man who sat outside staring at it for hours. This same piece led to my first commission when an unforgettable man named Frank asked me to create two other pieces to go along with it…and subsequently I created open editions or copies so that many others could have it too. (Will have a few testimonials from folks who own my artwork in the next film.)
What was the pull that caused this? I can’t explain it, I may not even fully understand it. But this is what I’m talking about when I say it goes beyond logic and beyond reason. It’s outta this world, baby!
And as I see it, each original painting can only have one home. Like every good mother, I want each to go where it is most wanted and desired. One Love.

The Other Side of the Argument
January 22, 2012I’m a fair person. And I also care little to nothing about politics. And since freedom of speech is still in effect so far, I just want to speak my peace. I’m all against piracy and online theft. After all, it’s all too easy for people to steal your images, your ideas, songs, etc. And a lot of artists are disgruntled about this. I haven’t (allegedly) supported the bootleg movie man in a long long time, (they accost you when you’re coming out the mall) and I think musicians and artists should not have to worry about people stealing their work. I actually go out of my way to buy original CDs as a matter of principle. I ain’t perfect but I generally do to people what I want done to me.
There is always a solution to every problem. There must be a way to fight Internet piracy and illegal downloading without infringing on the rights of everyone who isn’t doing it. That’s it.
Blame it on the rain
January 20, 2012Happy Friday. This time I’m behind through no fault of my own. Got a new 18 megapixel camera for my artwork, and it requires natural lighting because of the high resolution. (at least for the artwork to show best.) So the updated online gallery is being held up once again. Because it’s been raining on and off and I can hardly get a little sun to work with. But who am I to be upset with the sun?
Anyway, in light of this beautiful rainy day, here’s one of my favorite songs in the whole wide world. I play it on the piano whenever I get really down and it cheers me up right away. The lyrics pretty much say it all ……… (sing along with me?) One Love.
Coming Soon to the Uptown and East Atlanta areas.
January 18, 2012On a lighter note, me and my Crew are planning some fun things to do. It’s all about Quality of Life as I mentioned and we better do what we can to have all the fun we can till the sh*t hits the fan!
You’ve probably heard all you need to know @ the SOPA and PIPA bills which are just testing the water to see how many of us are willing to give up our rights w/o blinking as we merrily tweet the day away. It’s time to know what time it is.... .
Whatever action you know to take from signing petitions to putting a link on your site to writing your Congressperson or Representative, if you haven’t already, please do something. more info
So these theme parties are actually painting sessions in a party atmosphere. Offered a la cart or as part of a larger event, it gives everyone the chance to express themself through an artistic medium.
This is one of a few themes we’re working with, this being timely for Valentines Day. However, since most people are happily single, this is the only couple-themed party…. thank God. one love.
INTERNET CENSORSHIP IS JUST WRONG
January 18, 2012It will start with the Internet. It will end with us all being slaves to the system that tells us what to do and how to do it. Quality of life is EVERYTHING….When will they get it?!
Triplicity 3- *updated
January 18, 2012* Surprise, Surprise, cut off the top of the painting by accident…which will not do. This post will be updated shortly. *
An artist never really finishes his work, he merely abandons it.
Paul Valery
Can you say that again Paul? Because I have a serious problem. I can almost never call something ‘finished.’ It’s really easy for me to get started on something and I love that part the most as well. I get this rush of adrenaline and excitement that just pushes me to keep moving.
Like I said in an earlier post, the race is for the running. This means I love to work on a piece but when it gets toward the end when it’s close to being done, whatever that means, I get sort of depressed. No joke. I find it hard to call it finished because every time I come back to it I see something else that needs to be done.
Take this piece for example, Triplicity 3. I can’t remember when I started it, it was so long ago. But now I’m working on Triplicity 4 and I want to finally wrap this up. So today among other things, I’m planning to finally complete this and some others that have been lingering far too long.
On a completely different note, someone recently accused me of being a narcissist because I take so many pictures with my artwork. For the record, a narcissist I am not. I have far too many bad hair days for that… far far too many.
I like for people to be able to conceptualize the size of a piece and therefore I put myself in it for comparison. I’m one of those people that have to see to ‘get it.’ You can tell me the dimensions of a room all day, but I won’t know what in the hell you’re talking about until I actually see the room and then I can understand what 20 x 25 actually means.
So this piece if I can recall offhand is about 42 x 42.” It’s the first Triplicity I did on silk. I don’t consider these a series because they never started out that way and that was never my intention. It’s just a variation on the same theme that I love so well.
I would like to discuss this and the new one in more detail, probably in audio or video (if I can get my hair right) because there is some depth to it. Obviously, this piece is referring to our “Space Brothers” who are more similar to us than we might imagine……..
Sidenote: Whoever invented the “Forever Lazy” should be given a medal and a milkshake. Got it for Christmas, and whoever thought of the wonderful idea to make a blanket with legs is an absolute genius! This thing is a dream come true. I’ve always lost money in the stock market so I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not for me, otherwise I might buy stock in this company. I wear it so much I’m now referred to around the house as Big Blue, lol. However, the name Forever Lazy may not be the best name for something that causes you to want to live up to the title.
…..until next time, one love.
The Principle of Love….stick to it!
January 16, 2012At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
“I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

what you need?
January 12, 2012
Electric Glory, 28 x 38, oil on silk, $7500
Yesterday I was talking about how nobody really needs art. But there are those who covet and steal it. There are those addicted to collecting it. Some even invest in it (which is not recommended by some galleries, buy it because you love it OK?). Is it all that?
Yes. It is.
One Love
I don’t know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is.
Jean-Michel Basquiat
what the world needs now…….
January 12, 2012An artist is somebody who produces things that people don’t need to have.
Andy Warhol
Yes, Warhol was crazy as hell ( who isn’t nowadays) but he’s right. People don’t need art, they need love. And I’m of the opinion that art can be found just about everywhere if you look keenly enough. Basquiat used to make graffiti that was free to all. And he and Warhol were friends at some point.
However, if you have the disposable income, and you like it, I say buy all the art you can!
Sidenote: Just found out that Carmelo Anthony is an art collector as well. Someone I know is a HUGE Knicks fan (loyal to the core at all cost, lol) so that’s why his name stands out to me. Sports is truly not my forte. But you will find art lovers in just about every area…. even though it’s something that no one actually needs. One Love.
