Rose Without  Thorn, 26 x 30 oil on canvas

(from my earlier works when I was only signing my first name. When my daddy died I started signing my last name in his honor… because I never changed it even after 2 marriages…and for the record it’s Portuguese)

Maybe the poets are right. Maybe love is the only answer. (Woody Allen)

All or Nothing-Keep on Moving

February 7, 2012

Omen,  18 x 24 oil on canvas

Sometimes the gray area is just no good; it’s too confusing. Drama is not a pastime it’s a waste of time. In my opinion, those who get caught up in it have no clear-cut goals, they’re just blowing in the wind. This is why I hate drama. Why create a problem just because you have nothing else to do? I have a hard enough time staying on schedule as it is, I don’t need to deal with conniving folks. Time is the only thing you can’t get back. I got to keep on moving like Bob Marley says. Again, the lyrics say it all. One Love

The Power of Love

February 5, 2012

the more i live
the more i learn
the more you give
the more you earn
the more you love
the more you should
when it hurts so bad
it feels so good.

~

the power of love
is a very real thing
it’ll make you cry
it’ll make you sing
it’ll make you strong
it’ll make you weak
make you say something dumb
or forget how to speak

~

it’ll make every day new
and every night old
an ancient whisper
of a secret untold
it’s the stongest force
in a world so small
it means everything,
and it means nothing at all.

You are So Beautiful

February 5, 2012

The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express. ~Sir Francis Bacon

Nothing is really beautiful but truth, and truth alone is lovely. ~Nicolas Boileau

I’ll take the risk of sounding corny, but chances are if you are reading this right now and you have any affinity to art, no matter how small, you are a very beautiful person. One Love.

the greatest adventure IS life…

February 3, 2012

Fear is not an excuse, it’s a challenge…one of the hardest for each of us to face. But fear is limited to the mind. Leave your mind behind but not your sanity. There’s too much magic in the world to miss the moment. Happy Friday.

The Dance

January 31, 2012

Won’t you dance with me?

This is a hand-signed open edition print from the 24×24″ oil painting of the same title. approximately 8×8″ unframed. and approximately 13×13″ framed. Available double matted in a designer frame.*

We all move about with our own individual beats.
Your rhythm is not mine.  But we can synchronize…

The dance is alive, it’s electric.  It’s the jungle that sustains our life.
There is order in chaos and sanity in madness.  All is in perfect
harmony on some level.  And so we move, we glide, we jump.  We
create static.  We cling and we divide.  Regardless, we keep on
moving, always moving, never contemplating the idea of stop.
There is no such thing.

In the universe, all is in motion—in the constant flux of creation.
And so we dance with the tides and the seasons and the moons.
Always moving, never stopping, always hoping.  Even in the deepest
darkness, there is still a sprinkle of light.
Because life is hope…we are living the perpetual dream.

The World is Not Cold

January 27, 2012

People are. The world is an enchanting place. It’s magical, it’s mysterious, it’s captivating. Nature expresses itself through the most vibrant colors and in the most breathtaking ways.

My teacher taught me how to ‘see’ even though I was born with sight.

Experience taught me how to reclaim the love we are all surrounded with at birth (even though it might not be apparent).

The Truth is that life is what we make it…We mold our destiny like an artist molds clay.

and that’s just the way it is….

Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.
C. S. Lewis

Hybrid

January 25, 2012

This is one of many examples of the alien/human hybrid I was talking about in yesterday’s post, probably not first-generation. The face might look normal, but the body was kind of weird and unisex-looking. All of this is inspiring a new painting. I’m thinking of calling it Hybrid. I believe this was one of the Egyptian rulers, which were in power because their forefathers were Space Brothers.

From my understanding, all of the Egyptian royalty trace back to this cross breeding. And since the Greeks had a strong relationship with the Egyptians, (Plato, Pythagorus, etc. studied in Egypt), according to W.T. Samsel, Greek mythology came directly from these stories about our space brothers. He believes, and I do too, that all of the Greek ‘gods’ were actually beings from another Universe.

Hey I know this aint a history blog, even though much of art is historical. My goal isn’t to try and convince you of anything…it’s just that some people want to know the influences and inspiration behind a piece of artwork… Gotta get back to the studio, I’m behind schedule once again. One Love.

black holes, cross breeding & misc. *updated

January 24, 2012

What I’m ranting about in this audio

1. Why commissions are a win-win situation
2. What are black holes?
3. What our Space Brothers can learn from us…if anything.
4. Ancient Egyptians mating with aliens?

* Correction: it’s the third, not fourth piece like this
